User Manual
Welcome to Tours! This manual is written for the two kinds of people who use the site day to day:
- Travellers — find a tour, book it, pay, and manage your trips.
- Operators — list your own tours, manage departures and reservations, and track earnings.
No technical knowledge is required. Every screen described here is part of the live application.
Part 1 — For Travellers
Browsing & Booking a Tour
The storefront
The public site lives at /. From the homepage you can explore tours, read the blog, browse the gallery, and more.
- Tour catalog (
/tours) — browse all tours with search and filters (category, destination, price, rating). Each tour card shows the cover image, title, operator, rating and reviews, and a "from" price. Tours paginate (numbered pages or "load more", as configured by the site). - Tour detail (
/tours/[slug]) — the full page for one tour: hero with title, rating and operator; key facts (group size / travellers, duration); the description; the day-by-day itinerary; what's included (inclusions); the available departures (dated options, each with its own price and seats); reviews; and recommended tours. The booking widget lets you pick a departure and party size and continue to checkout. - How it works (
/how-it-works) explains the booking journey end to end. Other public pages include Blog (/blogs), About (/about), FAQ (/faq), Gallery (/gallery), Contact (/contact) and Enquiry (/enquiry).
Book a tour, step by step
- Open a tour at
/tours/[slug]and read the itinerary, inclusions, and reviews. - In the booking widget, choose a departure (a specific date) and the number of travellers.
- Optionally add any extras the operator offers (e.g. airport transfer, equipment hire).
- Click Book / Continue to go to checkout.
Checkout
- Checkout (
/booking/checkout) confirms your chosen departure and number of travellers, lets you apply a coupon code, and shows the order summary (subtotal, discount, tax if enabled, total). Pick a payment method from those the store has enabled (for example card, PayPal, or an offline option like bank transfer). If you aren't signed in you'll be prompted to log in first. - After a successful payment you land on
/booking/confirmed. An offline payment shows a "booking placed, payment pending" message until an admin confirms it.
